Take a short break! Set free your creative side with amazing landscape photography in the Provence.
No other region in Europe, not even Tuscany, has so nourished our dreams and sensory demands. It has been a playground since the Romans scattered arenas and theatres across the landscape.  Follow in the footsteps of master painters like Vincent Van Gogh and Pablo Picasso, who were entranced by Provence's natural beauty and  inspired to create many of their masterpieces here. With its blue lavender blooms, lone trees in the vast fields, towns and villages.

Experienced photographers will surely enjoy the tour, but there is also much to be had and enjoyed by amateurs and beginners as well — Provence is the kind of place whose beauty manages to touch and inspire everyone.

COVID19
UPDATE

Like almost everyone else, COVID19 has certainly be challenging for me.  In view of the ever changing conditions, this photo workshop is tentatively still planned to take place.

Provence July 2020 Tour may take still take place depending on governmental regulations. Please check back on 16th June 2020.

A confirmation deposit will only be required 2 weeks prior to the commencement of the tour. The deposit is fully refundable should the local conditions change making the tour untenable.

Your health and safety are my top priorities.

The only photography workshop tour that gives you full control and flexibility by providing the great workshops, and tours which include transport and like-minded photography travel pals. You just book your train tickets or flights to get there. Then book the hotels of your choice where we will be travelling through, or use my recommendations.
 
Don't forget, you are also on holidays and may want some time for yourself. Apart from the workshops where we work and travel together, there is sufficient rest & recreation time included for your own thing. Or if you prefer, hang out with me for meals, drinks and company. Whatever you decide, is cool for me! The tour is designed to start and end in at Aix la Provence. where you can choose to extend your stay or travel further with your new friends and photography skills.
 
The Provence photography workshop tour requires us to wake up rather early (oh god....!). This is when we have the best light and less crowd. However, don't forget that you can always take a siesta during the day!
 
Needless to say, you'll get better deals for summer the earlier you book your train tickets and hotels.

Meet up at Marseille airport or  TGV station* Aix-en Provence afternoon.  Pick up rental cars and head off to Hotel.  Early dinner and sunset shoot at the Lavender fields.

Tour participant's profile

  • You are a free independent traveller with a lust for photography. You are capable of making your own accommodation arrangements at each location. Everything else is taken care of. Relax and enjoy yourself.
  • You love landscape photography.
  • A little challenge....Be willing to wake up at 6am as this is where the action is. Photography is more important than sleep! Remember, you have the day to take a siesta and at the end of the tour you can extend your stay and wake up at your leisure.
  • Dinners are usually early at 6pm or after 9pm (due to late sunsets for optimal light conditions).
  • Just reasonably fit as it involves walking.
  • You are easy going, enjoy meeting people and making new friends. We are a small group of up to 7 photographers and I want everyone to have an a wonderful time with me. Be zen about life and accept the unexpected as part and parcel of having memorable moments!
  • Like me, you are passionate about travel photography and wish to get amazing photos and not snap shots!

Skills you will take away 

  • Develop core photography competence.
  • Understand landscape photography.
  • Effective composition tips.
  • Shoot great travel photographs.
  • Working with and using available light.
  • Create panoramic images.
  • Other image editing & processing techniques of with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
What is included and excluded from the photography tour.
I believe in transparency and accessibility to the tours. Each of us have personal budgets, different comfort expectations but a common goal of travel photography and great images. Over the weekend, through the workshops and tours, we will explore landscape photography techniques, improve your photography skills along the way while working together.
 
Apart from the personal attention you'll be receiving, you will have your own free time. There will be opportunities as well to share costs with fellow photographers to do other activities not included (optional excursions).
 
The most important components of the tour are already included.
 
WHAT IS INCLUDED :
  • The workshop, and guidance to to the locations.

WHAT IS EXCLUDED :

  • Train tickets to Aix-en-Provence or air travel to Marseille airport.  Actual commencement point will be confirmed during info session.
  • Car hire, tolls, petrol.  Ideally, there will be 4 persons per car so the car costs can be shared.
  • Travel insurance.
  • Meals, accommodation, entrance fees (will be listed out for you in advance),
  • Tips and expenses of a personal nature
  • Anything else that is not included will be mentioned in the detailed program.
  • Please join us for the information evening as it provides valuable insights on how the trip will be organised, tips and suggestions to make your travel arrangements hassle free.
